  • Condition: American antique single/twin cast iron bed with brass trim. Circa 1880. Assembled width is 42.5", length is 77". From the floor up to the surface the mattress would sit is 18.5". If you decide you do not want to use the springs, a piece of plywood could be used. Then your mattress would be 15.5 inches from the floor to the bottom of the mattress. There are casters, one is missing. They add 1.5" to the height of the bed. From the bottom of the caster on the floor to the top post of the headboard is 53" while the same measurement at the footboard is 45". This bed is about 140 years old and will easily last another 140.

    American antique single/twin cast iron bed with brass trim. Circa 1880. Assembled width is 42.5", length is 77". From the floor up to the surface the mattress would sit is 15.5".
