Here is a Starrett No. 657D magnetic base with a Starrett No. 25-431" dial indicator that are in very good condition. These tools have worked very well together. They have been used so you will find some scratches, scuffs, and other cosmetic imperfections but nothing that will hinder their usefulness. One of these imperfections is that the original owner scribed his name + on the side of this indicator. (See photos) This Starrett dial indicator works great. The plunger moves easily with no hesitations and always returns to "0". Smooth! The Starrett No. 657D magnetic base works perfectly. It "sticks" solidly to any flat steel surface. The magnet turns "on" and "off" easily with just a push of the button. The No. PT0678-A gage holding rod broke and had to be modified. I think this was a very good fix. This set up has a vertical reach of 15 1/2" and a horizontal reach of approximately 7 1/2". There are a few cosmetic imperfections with these tools. Please don't let these flays take away from what is otherwise a very nice used tool set. This American made magnetic base and indicator are both ready to go back to work immediately and would make a great addition to any precision tool box.
