WWII ERA U.S. ARMY 42ND INFANTRY DIVISION LARGE ENAMEL 2 1/2 INCH BADGE

ORIGINAL WORLD WAR TWO ERA LARGE U.S. ARMY 42ND RAINBOW INFANTRY DIVISION ENAMEL BADGE  This insignia is much like an enamel DUI (distinctive unit insignia) although much larger measuring 2 1/2 X 1 inches.  The reverse is screw-back and is unmarked.  I am not sure how or in what capacity it was worn, I have never come across another like it.  In the photos I posted a shot of the 42nd insignia between a standard size 3rd Infantry Division shoulder patch and a standard size 11th Airborne DUI to give you a better idea of the scale (3rd patch & 11th DUI not included, just shown as an example).  In overall very good condition showing two minor indentations in the blue part of the rainbow.
